    RK Question

On a dealers website i saw a RK that was marked l/26 800, was wondering if anyone knew who the maker is and if it is a legitimate marking because ive never heard of it and cant find any info on it.

    Thanks, Mike

    Not genuine imho.
The only makers were S&L, Zimmerman, K&Q, Juncker, Deschler, Godet and Schickle.

I did more searching on ldo numbers and many people claim that l/26 is k&q. It could be a replacement piece made by k&q.Anyone?

L/26 is K&Q. But that does not necessarily mean that the cross in question is a K&Q.

              hi Mike,

              how about posting the pics??
Usually that makes it easier to give a sound comment.

              Best regards,
              Ben

                Hello Dietrich,

I was referring to the book of Gordon Williamson "the Iron Cross of 1939".
                But I guess I'm wrong ?

                Best,

                    No.

...and since Stef is reading: Not good in the sense of documented and known awarded crosses.

                        Hi Mike,

the cross in question is by all means not an original piece. As far as i remeber these fakes also appear unmarked or mm'd L/12.

Just wondering what markings or how you can tell its a fake?

                          Thanks, Mike

                            Dietrich,
                            i hope you don't think i'm "kleinkariert"

                            Dear Mike,

in this case an identification is not that hard since the cross is marked with L/26.
As Dietrich already mentioned this code stands for Klein & Quenzer. This firm indeed produced many Knight's Crosses that are very very characteristic. A comparision between the cross in question and an unquestionable K&Q will quickly reveal a dozen of differences.

                            KR,
                            Stef
