Vet Bringback - IC II Spang

My neighbor Earl H. passed away a couple of years ago. He served in the RCAF as a wireless operator in Halifax and Lancaster bombers and was a really nice fellow. He did not bring back much from Europe in the way of souvenirs but he knew of my interests, and while cleaning out an old desk about 10 years ago he found this item and gave it to me.

Due to the background I am in no doubt as to it's authenticity, but I have searched the forum yet found no other examples like it. It is unmarked but does have a high silver content. A light rub of my finger will wipe off the oxidation on the raised surfaces. Give it a month or two and it will be completely black again. If anyone has any information or comments, or indeed knows the maker of this bird I would be most interested.

Starting with three angled views of the face:

I know two things, 1- it is an original and 2-you will find more like it on the correct forum, the crosses forum.
            I'll move it there.

                      beautiful Will
I don't have my 'files' with me at the moment, but as said 100% authentic, and a well know original pattern. can't say off-hand if it is a known maker or not. others members can help out there if able
always lovely to have a piece straight from the veteran, treasure it well. Pieces like this are worth a lot more than a 'dealer piece'... just lovely
                      lucky guy, congrats!
                      regards

                        Beautiful, original spange.
And with a lot of history when obtained from a vet
