      800/4

Erick...how does the 800/4 dent row compare with the 935/4 ?

I would expect them to be very close...but what differences do you see ?

        Hi Chris,

All I can base my impressions on are from photos of the 935-4s which as you know in person, in hand could be different. Each are very crisp & pronounced. For the most-part both appear to be rather identical from here.
Dave has compared my cross to his 935-4 in person & may have different findings.

I had the pleasure to study several 800-4 and 935-4 in person and in depth. The dent rows are very close to each other but the 800-4 is lacking some of the crispness of the 935-4. I would consider it later but immidiately after meaning that the 800-4 is the closest to the 935-4.

Good morning all! Erick, thanks again for the loan of your Cross. I looked at it from every angle I could specifically attempting to identify something that would place it 'considerably later' than the 935/4. As you know I couldn't.

I did, however, find it minutely 'softer' than the 945/4 in strike and the dent/pock area. Other than the 'odd' or 'different' 800 stamp there was nothing that I could say negative about the Cross

I attempted to replicate the same angle for comparrison....

Awesome photos Dave! After reviewing them, the 800-4 does appear to follow the 935-4 in relation to crispness.

Here's again Erick's cross and Daves' cross on a microscopic level.

Look for the 6-9 o'clock knee flaw.

I don't have the Cross! I merely copied it from the '57 section. It's interesting to note the areas of the arms that have been re-cut.
