Just had these photos sent to me from a dealer, and thought I would run it through the members again for discussion. It looks pretty 'new' to me, like it was made last week???? Is it a known fake?

Obverse and reverse hardware match my original
Refer to Gordon Williamsons' book "The Iron Cross of 1939" -- page 185 - as commented previously - "unknown maker"

I'm still steaming over what just happened with this piece. I asked the dealer to put this piece on hold for me until I could get some research done. He sent me photos which I posted here. I just went back to buy it after these feedbacks on it, and someone else got it from under me. I wonder if it was someone who read this thread. I don't know.

No, tomorow's a new day. I've at least learned that this badge is a genuine period piece - now I can grab one when I see one again. It was just so stinkin' nice though! It probably wasn't anyone from the forum, and if it was, no big deal. Thanks for your help in confirming it to be a genuine piece. It's one more for the files.
