Hi al,

I just got this beauty in today, and wanted to show it off a little. I love these crosses by Paul Meybauer, high relief dates and swasi, very nice...notice the difference in the dates, the '1939' is set a little higher up than the '1813.'

Beautiful 1st Class, Andreas. I really like the high profile core detail of the EKI and the pin assemblies on these. Nice piece indeed!

Hi Robert,
That's a beautiful cross, and my favourite maker aswell.

I love the high relief features. I have one that has the top right corner of the 3 in 1813 'chopped'. I see yours has the full figure 3. I'm not sure which core version is the more common.

Yeah, I used to have a marked L/13 EKI like the piece Andreas posted. It's swasi was more beveled than our EKII's, making me believe that Meybauer made his crosses with two different cores. Good point to remember. I find this to be true of the maker-marked '27' EKII's also. The earlier core of the '27' had a very high square-cornered swasi, and the maker stamp on the ring was from two different tools. The more I study EK's in-hand, the more core variations I see in many different makers.
