    I've been Floch'd

Thanks to Peter Wiking's excellent Floch article I can now state that for the last 17 years, I have been the proud but unwitting owner of 2 of Floch's finest.

Both my KVK 1st class with swords and without are what appear to be textbook examples:

    L11 marked,
    Type B pins,
Dimples on the reverse of the swords at 1 o'clock,

Both bought from the same UK dealer in 1990.

These 2 beautys can now be added to my intentionally bought repro 1957 1st classes and at least I can now clean them to match the shiny appearance of those, without the fear of damaging originals !!

The article has given me one piece of reassurance though - that my cased mint EK1 1939 is a textbook C.F Zimmerman, with the 20 on the underside of the correct shaped pin.

So onwards and upwards - will now have to look for genuine replacements for the KVK's - I at least now know what to look out for !!

    Hello Mdb2312,
Welcome to the Forum. I've was Floch too!
I think President W. Bush said it best "Floch me once, shame on you - Floch me twice, Won't get Floch again" or some such misstatement or as we call them Bushisms.

Oh,oh, believe me I do not want to be one of the members. My "big" Iron Cross collection is ONE IC FIRST CLASS L/11 that I got here in the forum. If that one is a FLOCH then my whole collection is,

        Regards

            Hello

As has been said, we have all been taken in by fakes at some point or other. Unfortunately it seems all to often to be part of the learning process. I had a Floch EK2 and EK1.

I know it hurts, but look on the bright side. At least they weren't Knights Crosses of the War Merit Cross.

            Regards
            David
