            Hello Tony,

I'm no expert, however, I don't like the look of this one. Firstly the obverse detail looks very poor, I also don't like the look of the catch. Is the cross three piece and magnetic? Like I said, I'm no expert with the EK, but these are generalised observations based on the quality of all Third Reich awards and other EK's that I own/have seen.

            Regards,

            Paul.

Well, there you go. Always nice to be proved wrong! Although my observations about the obverse detail still stands, especially the swaz and date.

                Cheers,

                Paul.

That is not a pre 1945 cross in my opinion. The details in the core is soft and rounded. There is no frosting. The catch is exactly as used on 1957 crosses and badges from the mid 1960's.

                    All the best.

I'd actually say "inconclusive from these photos".

Tony, have you got any better ones?

                            Hello

I'm confussed I saw this cross, with the exact same photos yesterday and replied, suggesting that the back is Zimmermann'ish but asking for better, face on, close in shots of the front and rear of the cross so that a definate conclusion could be reached.

Does anyone actually own this one or is it on E-Bay, an auction house or some dealers site?

By the way, better photos are needed to certain about it one way or the other.

                            Regards
                            David

Edit. Just seen Dions, (Munsters), note below and that it is his cross.

Why are there two threads dealing with the same cross?
