        My judgement is base on the '1939' in front and the pin.

                I would hazard a guess that stamp is supposed to be L58 (Souval). Post war strike or fake whatever you want to call it.

                  Which raises the interesting question, why do post-war Souvals (or crosses claimed to be such) have different die characteristics than the wartime versions?

                    I would not say fake, but a 1950-60 version made by Souval. And George have a point there wy a diff die? I have one also and it´s a Souval made but frames made whit a other die then war timers.

                        My personal opinion is, that you must differentiate between Souval marks

                        L 58

                        and

                        L/58


                        The first, L 58, is original, but L/58 is a proof for post war production.

                        And the mark, which is shown here, is L/58, post war. And it is a fake!
