Here is something that has to be of interest to all RK collectors.

This would also be of interest to Imperial collectors, so I'll copy it to their Forum.

Interesting, but I've seen this before.

Note all the "925" hallmarks for german silver....must be fake

          Vielen Dank!!!!!!! Dankeschön!!! Doumo Arigatou-gozaimasu!!

          Peter,

          THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have an 835 silver schnapps cup engraved with :

          Luftwaffe Eagle
          I./J.G. 26
          27.9.39 - 31.12.39

A bit of research showed me it was to a member (crew? maintenance? janitor???) of the Schlageter Squadron and the dates coincide with it's transition from Odendorf to Dortmund, during the Sitzkreig. http://www.feldgrau.com/JG26.htm

The maker's mark on the bottom is now identified as Wilhelm Binder -- thanks to your post.

I had contacted a couple of German silversmithing houses and they couldn't find this maker -- I had given up.

          Again, thank you very much
