    EK1 LDO half-case

    Hello!

I got this LDO marked "half-case" for an EK1. Is anybody out there who can give me some information about such cases?

It shows use, is UV neg. (no glowing!), the white upper interior is made from paper. Is this a real pre 1945 case or not?

Many thanks in advance for your help!

    Regards

    Gerd

This looks OK to me. These half-cases or halbe-etui were born of economy measures and were made for a number of decorations. Here is one for a DKiG. I do not not think that they were ever produced for the RK but I have seen them for the EK and the KVK and for some war and qualification badges.

They do not command the same prices as conventional cases with hinges and push-button catches but prices are creeping up.

I have two EK1 screwbacks that reside in these so called halbe-etui. Here is a photo of my L59.

I did not realize that these were born of economy measures, but that seems logical.

I agree with Prosper. I don't see anything wrong with your case. (I wish I had one like it!)
