EK II brass core, opinions please

    Hi,

found this cross today. Looks like it should be, old and so, three piece conctruction, weight 20 gram, size 45 x 45 mm. It has brass core and a wider frame as usual. Ring is not soldered.
I don't know what to think really about this one.... so please opinions.

    thankss

Are you shure that is a brass core? I can see a lot off rust on it.

Yes, core is definitely brass or some other yellowish metal. Rust is only in the corners of the frame. I think it is because cross was hold together with some rusty stuff.

Like the others, I don't belive that it's a brass core.

if finally found a small magnet now and made the test. Core is magnetic, frame not, so core can not be brass.... but really, the color of the core looks really like brass one...same color. So it's iron, thats clear.

But what You think about the cross himself?

I think the cross is genuine. Your problem is the rust. This cross has been washed and not dried correctly. Water/moisture is/was trapped between the frame and core. If this is not corrected the core could be ruined in a short time.
