Tough one but from the pictures I'd say it looks most like a 65 Klein & Quenzer.

      I disagree. K&Q's have a cast hinge/catch.

It's an unmarked "84" - Carl Pellath, Schrobenhausen.

I'd like to see a closer pic of the one under question. Both 84 and 65 are close. Need to see better reverse characteristics.

Here is a borrowed "84" pic:

Are the "65"'s without cast hinge/catchs considered good?

Yes. There are zinc and Tomak examples of 65s that are fine.

It strikes me odd how the "64" KVK posted appears to match the
                  "65". Even the maker mark.

                    You mean 84?

Chose the 65 because the 65 catch (round wire) to me looks more like the kvk catch in question than the 84 catch which is more flat.

Other than that it could be a 84, so some better pics would help.

I agree they are pretty similar. Good pics of the reverse would help.

                          Hi,

Looks like an 84 to me. It has the typical "ribbed" sword handle reverse profile and flat-wire catch common to marked 84s.

                          Regards
                          Mike

                            Hello,

I agree with Mike K that this one have been made by Pellath.
If you compare the sword handle shape (reverse) you can clearly cognize the typical flute what the 65er does not have.

                            Please see pictures below.

The ribs are not that clear on MedalMike's kvk but they're there, so 84
