What I'd like to know is: The stamp on the bottom has no numeric designation. II is handwritten in; why? Is there any evidence a 1st class somewhere used this stamp?
I'm not questioning authenticity, it just seems these cases were made for 2nd classes, why not have the II (or 2., or however) added to the stamp?

Superb example of an original EK2 case. I have one with this same marking on the bottom, but I think with a different L-number. I will have to check this out later today...Tom
