Silver DKG S&L marked 4, Thoughts please?

I took new and better photos with my new lighting kit that I hope will allow the knowledgable collectors here a better chance to evaluate this item. If additional photos are needed of specific spots please advise and I will post them.

It features the square wire stock S&L customarily used on wartime and early postwar 57s.

I just got through this thread started by Yuri..and my head is spinning. Maybe mine will be dismissed outright, which is fine, or maybe it will add to the debate? I know several collectors have expressed interest in it. I do not have a digital scale nor a digital caliper so I cannot provide good measurements at the moment.

    So here I go.

As far as I know the jury's still out on these. 1/2 believe pre-45, 1/2 believe post-45

Yes it is beautiful S&L,but nobody can tell when it has been made. My opinion is the period the end 44 beginning 45 years.

When you consider that SL made 39 RKs in the eary post war period, maker marked and only differing fm their wartime counterparts in small details, I would cut a wide path around this piece. The trick is to find one of these w/ air tight wartime provenance for comparison (if SL actually made these during the war at all..they were a large, prolific firm so I don't see why not)
