With out pictures can any one tell me what is wrong with this story as far as the medal is concerend?
"Up for auction is this guaranteed 100% original World War II German cross in gold and engraved. This is the sunburst German cross, not an iron cross or anything like that. The condition of this piece is exactly how you would like to see one. The enamel is excellent, no chips or scratches. The back has real nice aging, especially where the sweat from your hands would turn it dark. The face as well has a thumb print where you would hold it that tarnished "At about 3 O'Clock." The pin is marked 20, I believe Zimmerman. Beneath the pin is an engraving, FW 15 2 43 "Very fancy FW and very real." This has the proper construction, NOT a one piece. This has the six vertical rivets on the back with rounded heads. I had a friend do research on the engraving, he found that it could of belonged to one of two men, either Friedrich Weichenhain "Leutant" or Franz Wurm "Unteroffizier." This information can be found in Die Trager Des Deutschen Kreuzes in Gold by Horst Scheibert. Your not going to find a better cross than this one. This piece just has that virgin feel to it. This would make a great addition to any collection, don't pass this one up.
