"(F669) A nice variant Knights Cross of the Iron Cross being the type with the rounded corners. The cross has marginal wear and tear and has a nice clear swastika with nice clear dates also. The cross is also marked 800 to the frame but there is no mark to the silver suspension loop. It comes complete with a piece of ribbon. This type of cross can be seen in Gordon Williamsons book The Iron Cross on page 337 as well as page 336 where a write up is included. There is also a picture on 338 of this type of cross being worn by a veteran. So far this manufacturer has not been identified although several theories have been put forward .( And I am going to put forward another maker being L/15 as this Iron Cross 1st Class by this maker matches the Die work on the Knights cross) In very nice condition and Knights Crosses are becoming very hard to acquire and their values are being pushed out of the average collector's pocket, so if you are after one, now is the time to buy, this is an attractive price as it is not one of the known 3 main award types. GBP ******163; 2250.00"

It is tue that the maker is unknown! But it is also known by now that the paint on the Rounder is undisputable post 45. Based on that, I personally have no doubt at all that this cross type is a post war production.
Comparisons with pictures have been done a thousand times over and over again and when one could see details in "round corner pictures' it always turned out to be a Juncker.
The upcoming revelation regarding L/15 (or L 15???) will be interesting. Bringing Schickle into the picture tells me tahat the seller has no idea about the company Schickle and it's fortunes...
I hope that any potential buyer will do his homework before going into this adventure!
