        explain

        Hello,

Can somebody explain why the maker mark is not in a box like the normal EK_1's that they put out?

Please let me know either way. Thanks.

            Hello again,

Can somebody post an image of a normal hinge/catch setup L/11 with a logo NOT in a box.

            Thanks.

                Isn't that copper?

Doubt it; haven't heard many discussions here about copper cored crosses.

The core is copper plated in my opinion.

                      Hi Bill,

                      Have a look here;

                      http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ghlight=L%2F11

Although the Deumer boxed L/11 seems to be more common, unboxed L/11s are certainly known. There are also L/11 markings on the pin.

Re the core, I'd wait and stick a magnet on it before stating it's brass/copper/etc - I've seen some lightly worn but nicely "bronze" toned iron-cored examples looking like this.

                      Regards
                      Mike

                        Mike,

                        Thank you for the link.

                        Peter,

Yes, I have heard of copper being used as well.

                          Hello,

here comes a sample for a L/11 stamp in a box on the pin.
There is no diffrence between the stamp on the pin and on the cross.
