Do you think this an early EK1

    Good day, all!

I added this very nice EK1 set to my collection a while back and have puzzled over it for some time so I thought I would ask for your thoughts...

    Description:

Non-magnetic core, very nice matt-black, egg-shell finish, 'chemical' frosting, nicely machined pin with round-wire c-catch.

The quality of this EK1 seems very high, especially the finishing to the pin and it is a pin I do not recall seeing before.

Has anyone seen this type before and has it be identified to a known maker?

    Rich

        Hello

A very nice, mint piece. Maker wise I believe that I did see an EK with this set up on another forum - but sorry, I can't recall which one. I do remember that there was a lot of debate about possible makers but very little conclusion. If I recall correctly it was decided that it was an original piece.

        Regards

          Hi,

i've such a pieve in my collection. It's a brass core piece and a typicall very early piece. The cross and the case belong together.

I don't know the maker. I posted it here 2 or 3 times an nobody could say which is the maker. Some collectors said the Reverse Setup looks like Juncker and i cannot say if it's right because the Core says not Junckr. But we don't know! Maybe Juncker made these crosses in the very early days.
What i know is what you said. The quality is excellent. The Material must be very good because it''s very soft . I think the frameset have a high copper portion.
What also speaks for Juncker is the Patina IMO typicall for this manufacturer.

          Here is Mine for compare.

BTW: Outstanding piece you have there!!!!!

          Regards
          Andreas

PS.: Now i see that the Setup Obverse is not like vour's

I suppose it's just one of those crosses that you can never identify to a maker.

Still, it's a really sweet example and one I am pleased to have in the collection.
