    Oak Leaves to KC--Privat Purchase?

Got these Oak Leaves at the first MAX in St. Louis and would like to know how common it was to privately purchase such a distinguished award?

    Were they for wearing?

Ron, I always shudder when I hear 'private purchase' and that said I fear the Oaks may be a '57 example made by S&L.

                Ron,

a legitimate oakleaves recipient could either claim a free-of-charge replacement from the Pr******228;sidialkanzlei in case he lost them or he could buy a (licenced) example at cost from the PKZ (which was around 13 RM, compared to the 34 RM for an RK).
The private sale of the RK and higher grades was 'verboten' as per announcement of the PKZ dated 1st of November 1941.

Your piece does not conform with the official awards from Godet and does not show the normal quality of this high award. IMHO "jewelers copy" is just another, however kind way, of saying "Fake".

                  Dave and Dietrich,

Not a surprise and appreciate the knowlege that you have aquired from years of study and experience in this hobby which is a minefield.

Was lucky enough to get an original cased set from a motel buy which I will post shortly.

                  Again, thanks for the help.

                  Best regards,
                  RonR
