can I narrow the field on a unmarked IC1 of the maker by case of issue-it looks like the top one on page 118 of Gordons book-square push button with wider/thicker cross outline...also where were the case of issues made what differnt firms?? can we help date IC by certain variations in case of issues? Thanks for any tidbits you can pass on...

Considering how easy it is to put any cross into any case, unless both are maker-marked I don't think there would be any way to determine the maker of one from the maker of the other.

From the great "Codes for Cases" thread, I think it was apparent there were only a few manufacturers of cases and that more than one EK1 manufacturer used cases with the same marked inserts. So I don't think VonLuger has much of a chance of determining the EK manufacturer from an unmarked case. VonLuger, have you posted the images of the cross somewhere already? If not, please post the cross images.
