        Hi,
This is just some observations but I don’t like the lack of detail on the beading which looks almost like someone has rubbed it down.
Also it looks like on the photos that the beading does not go down towards the cross as much as it should, once again lack of detail in the stamping.
The frame does not run true around the edge of the cross and varies in width as it runs around the cross.
The patina does not look right and the inner edges have not been finished to what you’d expect of a true EK.
The paint finish on the front does not looks like it has been applied too thick and it looks like on the second picture the frame does not fit together correctly nor has it been finished to the standard you’d expect of a true TR EK.
        This is just my opinion!!

In my opinion the cross is genuine. I see no problems with it.

I would say it is OK, but not 100% sure on this one because of the marking in the ring!

Although nobody here (probably) could prove it either way, I would believe somebody added it to generate a little extra cost.
                Good cross - bad marking.

                my two cents worth

Could the ring be a left over from Imperial (1914-1918) productions?

                    Thanks Gentleman,
i think the same as Hankmeister. Never saw a marking 800 on the Ring of a 1939 EK2. It was important for me to read your opinions. Thanks for looking.
                    Best regards.

Although I can't prove that the ring belongs to this ek2, I think it's worth posting here.

                      Regards,
                      Ben

                            800 mark on frame

Here is another interesting mark on the frame of an EK2.

Jerry, I think this marking was applied long after the assembly of the cross.....
