    Gold EKII

While this rightly belongs in the Imperial section, just thought this piece interesting enough to have a short view in the Crosses of the Wehrmacht -

Learned from the Imperial Forum that this is the equivalent of the EKII, and is from the state of Mecklenburg-Schwerin.

It is a 'Militarverdienstkreuz 2. Klasse'

The center is not magnetic - this cross appears to be constructed just the same as a WWI or WWII EKII.

Have put up quite a few pics in Imperial.

When purchased had absolutely no idea what it was....
Just like a knowledgeable (and sane!) collector...

Any info at all is most welcome -

    All the Best,

    Phil

Those damn Mecklenburgers were the first to copy the EK!
    HA just kidding.

    Nice looking piece!

      Hi Phil,

The cross should be 1-piece, ie solid, not like Prussian EKs which are 3-piece (excluding eye/ring loops).

      Very nice crosses though!

          Hello Greg, Mike and Brians

          Thank you all very much!

          Now to find the ribbon...

the piece does appear to be solid, non-magnetic.

          This forum is absolutely incredible!!!!

On rarity - rarity and value do not go hand in hand, of course,
for even if a piece is rare it is not that valuable unless there
          is a demand for it....

          All the Best,

          Phil
