    Zimmermann RK with Swords

I am interested to know if any of the RK experts on the Forum believe it would at all be remotely possible to match this Zimmermann RK with Swords to the recipient based on photographs; based on the:

    1. limited number of recipients who received Swords,
    2. Zimmermann RK,
    3. Godet Swords,
    4. there must be photographs of each Swords recipient,
    5. specific marking on the right side of the ribbon,
    6. and possibly the way the ribbon is folded at the swords.

I would love to know who the recipient was.

                  Andr******233;
check out this site. Though not all of the entries have Pics, but it is a complete list of the 160 recipients.

                    .

Yes Kevin is correct. It is in my collection. It is my top piece and also the only RK that I dont know the providence of which is why I am so keen to check if I can trace the recipient.

Attached are some photos of the reverse

                            Beautiful piece, Andre.

My RK to Generalmajor Frantzius also has the ribbon sewn, but to the loop.(unfortunately, not a Swords recipient)

Dave Kane has suggested that I contact the U.S. National Archives. I have not yet done so, but perhaps some assistance for you may come from their end.

                            Cheers

                            Bill

How fortunate to know the former owners of your Knight's Crosses. Dave you gotten them all directly from the receipients or their families?

I have a number of Knight's crosses, and only can pinpoint 2 from the photos of them surrendering to the US forces. I only wish I could discover the former owners of my medals.
