By 'wear' I meant not just the cross hanging on the loop, but the wearer bending the loop open to hang is cross on it, and general wear and tear that goes with wearing the awards on a daily basis. As seen from the examples shown, the loops on the reverse show varyng degrees of interference/openinig. No doubt this may be contributed to by handling etc..... often these sets have been in many hands since 1945

I buy that in a minute! There will be and there is distortion of the original shape.
