    21 Marked EK1

    Hi
I would appreciate comments on this cross. These are the only pictures to hand at present. The date looks badly worn. The catch has NOT been replaced according to the seller.
    thanks

The cross might be genuine but it has been tampered with. 21 is the marking for Godet and the frame on this piece is clearly not Godet. Souval used frames like that in their wartime production. The catch is tampered with as well. Perhaps repared.

Another question raised is why would the date be so worn when it is recessed lower than the frame beading?

I agree with Peter that this is not what it is purported to be.

              Hello,

At first I would have said a Souval cross with replaced pin, but not after looking at it longer. There is something quite strange about this one and is that a brass core I see?

According to the seller this is a non-magnetic zinc core cross
                regards

Tony .. it appears that the core has been repainted with a thick layer, giving it the appearance of wear.

To many red flags and questions. Stay away from this piece.
