I would say it is polished and repainted. At least mine has totally different surface.

Looks like the core has been repainted. Back might be okay though.

Hi. i also think that cross ben repainted or refinnished. Mm 6 crosses got an other look at there finnishes. matt, a bit ruff surfac.Almost tarmark-looking.Adding an pic of one of mine FZS crosses.
i try to clean it................. a rubbis.......................

**** did not see this in time, that first look is some kinda oil not paint. And if you then rubb it shure the all paint will go away. Some or most oils now will act as a hevy cleaner, so just a tip dont put oil on them.
