    Marker Marks of 65 EK2's

    Hi all,

As you know the MM of the EK2 for K&Q is on the ring. Does it matter if it is the front or back of the ring as I have seen pieces with examples of both.

I don't think it matters. (Mines on the front.)

Thanks for the info George, mine is on the back. I will post some pics tomorrow of the EKII.

Aaah, I just love K&Q crosses.
I have one myself, and it`s my favorite EK2.

              Edit -

For what it's worth, mine are actually only marked facing the front (I have 5 65 EK 2s).

Does it matter where it is marked on the ring, either the back or front, as I know this EK2 has been faked?....I will only be able to post pictures tomorrow evening unfortunely.

Just an observation which may be wrong, but if you look at this thread http://www.wehrmachtawards.com/forum...threadid=18063 and go down to Neils Howes post showing Deltevs fake and original it would appear that the MM of the original is on the back on the ring.

Can anyone confirm this? Does anyone else have an EK2 with the MM65 on the back of the ring....

I recently bought a 65 marked EK2 from Detlev with the maker mark on the back of the ring.

I have two K&Q "65" EK2's. One is MM on the front, and the other on the back.

I would be very cautious in trying to define a "truism" when dealing with certain instances of human involvement. Naturally, there will always be room for human error.

EKII Pics! MM is on the back of the ring, pic EK2I.jpg, hardly visible as I cant zoom in. However, it does conform to other K&Q markings!

I will agree with Mark on this issue of which side the ring is stamped on. It is obvious that if the same design features exist on the medal, what difference does it make which side the jeweler marked it?
Already there is enough evidence to conclude that the jeweler had no preference as to which side he placed his mark.
We have all seen maker marks wrongly positioed on certain upper-end repros. But the number on this ring is a minor, especially if all else is 'textbook'.
