"Iron time" will be republished sometime soon. I emailed the author and said that there is still demand for the book and I didnt want to pay $400 for it used (I have seen it for more than that though). He stated that they are planning on reprinting a new load and would let me know via email.

More of a historical sense, however, has many amazing color pictures and some pretty rare items for display. There are numerous pictures of EKs and RKs that belonged to Guderian, Topp and others.

It's not a "collector's" book in the sense of showing you different makers and how to identify them, that is more like Gordon Willamson's "Iron Cross of 1939". Both great books.

I would love to get my hands on one or both of these books, but it doesn't seem so easy to do. There is a used one available here in Canada at Amazon for about $265.00. Too much right now. Why so expensive? Other books don't seem as much. Guess I'll have to keep checking the estand.

Due to the fact that "The Iron Time" has become a "must have" for most WW2 collectors, and the low number printed is pushing the prices rather much!

Personally I have not been able to get my hands on it, but I am really looking forward to a republishing

Great, now you can't afford to even read about the medals you can't afford to buy. Why is a book evryone wants out of print. Aren't publishers in business to sell books? Why not another printing so we can all have a copy. I'll only be buying a used copy now so the author and publishers will be making nothing off me. Does that make sense?

Agreed.. Can't understand why the publisher don't print more of this book and hence make more money

                  The Iron Time coming out........

                  Gents,

I spoke to the publishers a few weeks ago. The revised (corrected) second edition will be out about mid December. They will also have a special edition book, similar in layout to "Prussian Blue", in that the book will come inside a hard case, with a picture of either an EK or RK on the case cover. I've got my dibs in for one already

                  Cheers,

                  Bill

Just beware if ordering these books from the States and you live in Canada ... Customs will steal your first born for GST and Duty Fees ... I got killed before. Still worth the price but cost big $$$$ ....

Customs for Canucks (and other Outsiders)

Yes Darrell.......I am still smarting from the $137 that Canada Customs charged me for buying Gordon's cased Spange.

But.........a corrected "The Iron Time" second edition in that special hard-case will be worth it

                          Cheers,

Is it possible to pre-order the book?
If so, were can we do this?

I'm able to buy "The Iron Cross: A History, 1813-1957 - Gordon Williamson " for a good price (about 15 euro).
                            Is it it worth?

                            Thanks,
                            Nico

I suggest you take up the offer before the seller has a change of mind.

At this price the book is a real bargain.

                                Regards...
