    DKiG Pricing

What is the current going rate for a 1 marked Deschler DKiG in nice, as worn condition? The cross is attributed to a Luftwaffe recon pilot and has his named scratched into the back...

    Hello

From what I can find on the dealers sites, you are probably looking around €1650 - €1950, (about £1115 - £1300 GBP or $2100 - $2500 USD). For a private sale I assume the price would be slightly less than this.

These prices are for as worn, but good condition DKiGs. They are not attributed to anyone. How much value can be added to the item will depend on the provenance provided with the DK - a name scratched on the back on it's own, unfortunately doesn't mean a great deal.

    Hope this is of use.

    Regards
    David

I'd say $2500 at a low and right around $3000 if it's attributable

I remember a cased Deschler in nice condition on the eStand awhile back. Check to see what that one sold for. Seems like it sold for less that $3k.

BTW, how much less for a collector-to-collector deal as opposed to a dealer-to-collector deal with everything else being equal? 20% less?

Of course I am visualizing a killer DKiG so pics would definitely help, but based on what you've said I can see this uncased cross fetching good money

Here is the cross. This surfaced at a major US show a few years ago. The name is scratched in sutterlin script It belonged to Rudolf Tischendorf who won the DKiG 14/11/42 as an Oblt. He was a JU-88 recon pilot. The cross reads Tischendorf, Haupt. 1 Flg Sch Div. (Flieger Schule Division). He must have gone on to be a flight instructor

Gorgeous Deschler! To me this is a $3000 piece but on our e-stand it may not sell for that, sadly.

Gene, why would you value this piece at $3k as it seems fairly heavily worn? Does it carry a premium due to the attribution?

Just because it is a Deschler and not a MM20, gonna fetch that little bit more.

Gene, thanks. To me a piece like this runs circles around a "mint, unissued" etc etc etc. I'm sure this piece was brought back by a US GI. Probably taken from the recipient when he was captured.

I would tend to agree that $3000 would be high for this one.

I also like the 'been there' look, however mint condition typically brings a higher price.
