It appears to be a B.H. Mayers (26), unless my tired eyes decieve me. This is a finish that is typical of this manufacturer, and this hinge and pin are generally accepted as being a correct pinback variation of this manufacturer.

It is indeed mm 26, there is a picture with the cross by the case showing the back and it looks smoother, if that makes any since, Ill see if I can get it.
                thanks for the reply.

Yep. That "other" 26 variation. While the majority (including me) accept these as original, there apparently still remain some doubters out there ....

I agree that their are some doubters, because anytime a lot of guys see a pin that remotely resembles anything like the ones that Floch used or copied, I think it makes them nervous. Understandbly so, but the finish is classic Mayers. I personally don't like this variation, but believe it to be original.

                        Hi,

i agree. Thats a typical finish of a original B.H.Mayer.
I cannot understand why one should have doubts about the autheticy of this variation of the "26" EK 1. Class.
I would be very glad if someone would offer me such a nice piece.

                        Regards
                        Andreas
