Yup. I actually got two! They are identical in appearance, in that both are 38.2 g and have the die flaws. The only difference is that one is cased and the other is not. One has provenance, the other does not.

Yes, a greedy pig is an accurate description. But note also that the pig is smiling ! I really think that with these pieces, many of the very subtle characteristics come out and define the pieces when compared side by side with a loop. That is the reason I have tried to get at least two of the pieces I am interested in, so I can catalog and compare small flaws that will allow some distinction between wear nicks and "scrapes" and real differences and flaws in the dies. There are several more "flaws" in these crosses, beyond the two biggies, that help define the descher RK KVK. Likewise, the juncker RKs will be damn near impossible to fake, given the numerous subtle flaws that are consistent, and can be seen when comparing several examples side by side.

        BTW- Great picture!!!!!

          Kind regards,

maker mark- Drew has better eyes than I do. Unfortunately, he thought it was a "600", therefore upside down

The other piece has been photographed and posted here before. Both have the same flaws and both are 38.2 g. Anyone want to weigh in on the lighter vs heavier pieces (38.2 vs 42.5) as far as time of production, appearance of flaws?
I would think the flawed pieces, if the same die was used, would have to be later, when flaws developed. However, there are a total of eight distinct flaws, and it would be interesting to see if the others are on the earlier, 42.5g crosses. Thanks

                            Gordon, Chris

Are you guys interested in that time line issue relative to these crosses? Thanks

Beautiful Tom and thank you for the catch picture, thats just like my one. I think there are one or two differences in these and I'm trying to find them all.
