Looks a bit like you see on miniture Mother's Crosses, although I could be wrong.

          ek II mount

This is perhaps a mount ment for a woman to wear (say a nurse), but I think made up version. I have a WW I of similar style for an EK II

            Dear Schinkel,

The dealer selling this piece is a great guy. I have bought many EK2s from him for my son's collection.

As to this bow mounted EK, comparing this bow construction to other female mounted medals that I have or have seen, it lacks the quality I have come to see/expect in the bow mounts. The quality for bow mountings varies widely (ususal awards were LS awards, HC next of Kin etc), some are tailor made pieces while others are a little more crude, but this would have to be the crudest bow I have seen.

There were only a handful of EK2s awarded to females, Hanna Reitsch being one and a few nurses for the remaining crosses.

The bow appears to be "home made" and in my opinion could be something that a mother or wife wore to honor her son/husband who was killed, but this would be the very first female bow mounted EK2 I have ever seen in any book or collection etc.

              Hi Dan,

Regardless of the seller, who happens to be a forum member and a good guy indeed, I also believe this construction was made during or after the war, although it does not match with other known designs. Gary sums it up well, stating this was probably made to honor a relative...

              Best regards,
              Laurens

I’m not doubting the seller its just the mounting I realized that it was home made but just wanted to know if it was made after a fashion so to speak!
Just don’t see how it can be worth any more that a standard ek2 especially when the mounting isn’t known

Well i have a EK2 whit simmilar mounting, but that is made after the war. Wy do i know that? Some things like the tread glow and some other stuff, my one has also a silver monogram on the front. I dont know if i posted it but i think so, cant make any pic******180;s right now. But any way that set is real and orginal but maybe not made during the war.
