The dealer price seems to be in the 1,400 - 1,700 euro range at this time.

You can get them cheaper than that also. It depends on what kind (actual silver or tombac, maker and condition)

They range from $1100 to $2100, which I believe is most fair

          These are my picks:

Now, they aren't silver but what metal do most collectors look for, is silver the most sought after?

Those are the two I thought looked the nicest, also by 2 good makers.

Silver without swords is probably the most sought after, but a fire-gilt Gold example is probably my fave. I have a gorgeous tombak piece but I'd love to find a fire-gilt one.

                difference

                Gene,

Could you post an image or two of a tombak badge vs. a fire gilt one as I would like to see the difference and perhaps even to know what to look for.

A fire-gilt badge is something I don't have. Once you see one and its deep gold shine, you will know it right away. Maybe someone can post high resolution scans of an example they have.
