    EK1 help needed!

    hello,
as my field of collecting is buckles, i do really need your help with these two.
are they original and what is their value?
thank you very much in advance!

EK 1 : non magnetic, no maker mark

    second: needle is magnetic

I don't like either one...the EK appears to be one piece and artificially aged with some sorta chemical.
The retired pilots badge appears to be a poorly cast copy.

    My advice: avoid.

      Hello Sven,

Still have my Police buckle and I really enjoy it!

The EK_1 looks like it is trying to be a Zimmerman cross but it is a reproduction.
The cast Luftwaffe badge is a reproduction and can easily be seen as well as the quality is terrible. This is a very rare award so finding an original isn't all that easy.

If you have any other questions or suspect badges please post them here and we will all try to help you and your friend out with some useful advice.

        hello bill and hank,

thank you very much for your help!!
it would have been to good to be real!

again this shows me that one should really specialize one something as there are way to many copies around to focus on everything that was produced during ww2.

        best regards

        sven

          Hi,

          I agree hankmeister and all1knew.

The EK 1 is a one piece copy and aged for blending the buyer.

The "Flieger-Erinnerungsabzeichen" is one of the most terrible copys i've ever seen.

I do not hope you paid much.

          Regards
          Andreas
