    Hi, confirmed its "800" marked very very small, anyone have an idea how to research, Dieppe 1944, Killed by French soldiers?

      On the historical side,it is too bad that your story does not read "killed by French-Canadian soldiers".They were there again in '44 to take revenge after the terrible defeat of Dieppe 1942.

        I should add that many of them stayed overseas after the war to marry good looking French girls,so anything is possible. .....Robert

            Thanks guys, been waiting 40 years for this, my dad who is in his eightys can remember me looking at one when I was in my teens, he is so pleased, so they out there ! just need the swords and oaks, Paul
