    Unusual EK 2 mark

I have this 1939 EK2 marked "24" on the ring for the Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Hanauer Plakettenhersteller. Nothing unusual in that, but on the smaller ring is another mark that looks like "WB." I've seen the "acorn" mark on the small ring illustrated in Gordon's new book, but this is not the same mark. Any ideas?
    Thanks!

Just a suggestion. The word "Arbeitsgemeinschaft" implies two or more makers in a union. The initials WB stand in all likeliness for one of those makers.

Very interesting George. Its a new one on me. I think Frank's suggestion sounds sounds very reasonable, one would imagine each maker within a consortium would want to identify their own product.

is it just me, or does the little (WB marked) ring look rather large?

Could just be the angle of the photo. Would be good to see the whole cross anyway?

I raised a question about the acorn marked EK2's and received little response. Now would be a good time to bring it up again... is the acorn only found on '44' marked rings or on other manufacturers as well?

I'd like to compare to see if these are the same cross... I'll show you mine if you show me yours!

                Mark,

I'd say that the little ring is pretty close to standard size. I'll post more pics shortly.

                  As promised....

Here's a general shot of the obverse of this cross and a better picture of the mark on the small ring.

Maybe the original recipient had his initials stamped there?

                    regards keifer
