Wel thats the first time I saw a picture off the :Ehrenzeichen für Deutsche
        Volksplege (1939-1945).
But sadley the way it came to the US . .
After all the medal with case cost's about 70.000 $
No wonder that the OWNER would like it back.
BOB from the forum told , also 3 DK with Diamonds ! WELL 35.000 $ EACH.
And Dont forget the STAR , no price on that one.
        Calculate it yourself
The guy in Austria lost great historical awards , and the price if he could sell them . I think there are a lot off potential buyers for those medals.
        Regards

Hi Dave, I'm not quite sure how to read that ..You know I was only referring to the Souval fakes with that "catch" right ? ..Most refer to the Ken Lane L/58's from the late 60's ,70's and even 80's ..However ,this was the first time I had ever seen absolute proof that RS used it and was producing as early as 62 .

You mean Hitler with the guy in Austria? And, but that is my opinion, you are way way off with the pricing. But that doesn't really matter since they will never be sold.

I am looking forward to reading the book by Dietrich.

Forum member Raymond and I spent most of Saturday with Mike P. and he is truly something of a local legend in the Peekskill area. I have known Mike since the late 1990s and used to work with him. He is a great guy to work with.

Mike feeds the troops at Camp Smith (these include Marines, National Guard troops, Navy Troops, Army Soldiers), the FBI, the CIA, guys I am not supposed to talk about, Homeland Security Members, Cadets of various sorts to include those from West Point on occasion and probably everybody else that carrys a weapon in defense of this country.

While we were there he was feeding Naval Cadets from a sort of junior ROTC naval program as well as doing a bbq for an NRA sharpshooting competition at the base as well as feeding troops on special Homeland Security duty on the Hudson, including this one Rambo-like guy with "INFANTRY" tattood on the inside of his mouth that came ashore on a civilian dock in full military attire with his machine gun as we handed to other naval troops in fatigues plastic boxes full of food in what I am sure looked like some sort of surreal secret CIA "black opps" operation to spectators from two marina restaraunts by the dock there.

Mike does this along with his beautiful and kind wife Lisa. They put in long hours where 18 hour days are the norm. The troops appreciate the great meals that Mike and Lisa prepare for them...this I know by seeing the many awards trophies, plaques and documents presented to them, I even saw a flag flown over a base in Iraq on Lisa's birthday that was sent to them. On the day that we were there, the cadets (aged 14 to 18) were having ribs and some of the ribs looked larger than the cadets themselves. I was told that in much of NY state a major complaint by the military personel is food at bases....that is at every base except one....Camp Smith.

Mike was the one who arranged the visit between the museum curators and Dietrich and the other fellow Marc as he has great contacts and even though he looks like a chef in the picture in this post don't be fooled as he is not just a fellow that keeps his head down while staring at the ground and whistling all day long. Mike will talk to you all day and his knowledge on all things military and this hobby is amazing. His collection is amazing. The militaria displays he puts on for the public are amazing. His sense of humor is great. He has gotten a little heavy since I last saw him--I did notice a belly on him for the first time since I have known him, but that does happen from working in a kitchen for so many hours a day...I think I myself drank about 15 sodas yesterday and had about 4 burgers and I myself am getting a bit heavy also.

Raymond really enjoyed seeing Mike's collection for the first time.

Thank you for a nice day Mike.

              Kindest Regards,

              Johnny

                  Jonny,

                  you are absolutely right!

On Thrusday evening I had the pleasure to see his collection and I saw documents that alone would warrant several publications, among them really historical important transcripts, pictures and files!

He is a great gentleman, a great collector and I'm proud to know him and his lovely wife Lisa!

Mike Peters one hell of a guy!

I am very proud to call Mike and Lisa friends of mine.

                              Mike T said everything........

His comments were very eloquent, I do not believe my phraseology could trump his comment's. This world would be a much better place if we had more people like Mike & Lisa Peters.

Mike, I am very sorry I could not attend. Dealing with things more important than the Militaria. Nonetheless it appears that everything worked out very well. This hobby is lucky to have such devoted collector's. And I feel very lucky to be able to call Mike and Lisa my friends!

Look forward to the hard copy.

                              Howard

Here's a good photo of Mr. Mike Peters. This photos was taken for an article written by the New York Times. Many of you probably don't know but Mike was fighting behind the lines, protesting ebay's censorship of history. The article did not correct ebay's misguided logic. However it show's the character of Mike, and the passion he has for this Hobby. He is a role model for all of us in this hobby. Keep up the good work.

Another shout out for that maniac Mike Peters. The guy violated the Geneva Conventions prohibition against, "cruel, inhuman, and degraging treatment," when he had some cadets cleaning a grease pit. Man it was special!
