The pin on the first one looks like a floch but the catch doesnt. So I dont know. I'm still learning. Theres something about the L maker marks. I dont know if the slash is good or bad. I think its good, but thats my guess.

The second one is real detailedand I like it. It's real sharp and defined in between the arms of the cross. My dad told me to always look at that. Never seen that pin before, I'm guessing again . . . but I think it might be OK too.

These were made by a BUNCH of differnt makers so they both might be OK.

                    Hello,

The L/18 looks like it could be correct, but I am not familiar with the second cross.

Like my buddy Frank said, B.H. Mayer loves to mess with you!

I let this thread sit overnight and no one has added anything new.

                      Are these good?

Robert, can you show a couple of pictures of the hinge at an angle on the second KVK? This one appears to have the characteristics of an unmarked "50", but the plate under the hinge is rather strange for a Tombak example. I'm beginning to think the hinge has been repaired or replaced.

Sorry for the delay in replying. These are the only pics. I would like to pick up my first KVK 1st without swords. I maybe should wait for one without so much controversy. Thanks for all the replys. Robert

Is the L/18 slightly vaulted? Regards, Ron.

It is on a dealer site. I am not sure if it is vaulted. Robert
