    4 Round 3 ek2s

I've been doing some major upgrades in my collection lately and I would like to show you my 4 round 3 ek2s. I would have loved to have the 4 different known ones, but I only managed 3 so far.

    These are:
    Top left - Thick version
    Top right - Thin Version
Bottom left - A mint thick version
    Bottom right - Plateau Swastika

So I am missing the Schinkel type and I would be more than happy to exchange with the top right one

The plateaued swastika did shock me when I first got it, as it is none like any other ek I have handled and I must say, my first reaction was not pleasant, but then I realised that this is a legitamate variant.

          Nice examples!

I have a mint thick version on a trio medal bar and a stippled core. I would agree with you that the stippled-cored version isn't the prettiest!

                          ...round3....

                          Hallo Henry,
Ive a round3 too. My informations: There was been about 140 medalmakers, all marked with a diffrent number, in this time. Perhaps 50 have had made Iron crosses I and II. In recent years till 1945, the majority of manufactures have not stamped index-number.
The ROUND3 is made by Deschler & Sohn, München. Only this company produced a round 3, and only the plated-trough hole for fixing, looks like a circlet. That are chracteristies made by Deschler.
My cross: 44,3 mm square, 5,1 mm thick, weight 24 gr., diameter ring 14,2 mm.
Ive had it in eBay for sell, but the kickt me out.
                          Best Regards. FredFogel.

                              Hi Fred

Welcome to the forum and thanks for your input.

So were all 4 known types of round 3 made by deschler? But why would they manufacture them in different styles? Yes I agree about the Deschler style eyelet / circlet.
