What is this miniature Iron Cross???? Pls help

A friend of mine has found this on a marked. Do you know what it is?
Size is 6 cm.

It's a fantasy piece representing an ek, with a fully wrong Hindenburg-Cross (ww1) ribbon.

I hope your frind didn't pay too much for this item.

I think it is something from the period which was actually worn on a civilian dress. Original, but not "official." This would be one of many "patriotic" crosses manufactured during WW1.

Hi Frank,

I can buy that theory in regards of Kristensen's cross. I find it more difficult to attach it to my piece though. With that shiny silver finish, it looks like it has been made yesterday. The suspension devise with the mobile catch complicates matters, I think these can be found on contemporary pieces. What do you think?
