#5 on Rudolf Wachtler & Lange Mittweida EK!

Just been photographing my collection and noticed the number 5 on the front of the small ring on my #100 Rudolf Wachtler & Lange Mittweida cross!
Is this common or have I found something unusual?
It’s not on any of my other crosses but it is on another unmarked cross of mine that is from the same maker.

Could it be a quality control mark?
Or perhaps some kind of batch number?
