I think i got ripped off

I purchased this cross with LDO box. I have read several articles on fakes and I think this is one. Any comments are welcome.

What concerns you? The Case or the cross? Or both?

The case appears to be a repo case made in England. Muller-Militaria I believe makes it. From a distance the cross looks OK.............Jimmy

Case is definitely a repro. For the ek, closer shots are needed.

Im afraid to say, but I got it online. It came today from Europe. Now the whole thing looks very nice. The case has a covered hinge on the backside. It has a funny smell, but the inside is not fancy. The croos itself is in good shape.. The number 65 is on the ring, but nothing on the cross. The core moves inside the frame. All of the details look really good. I will post close up pics later.

                        Pictures

We need pictures of the cross to tell but loose core is OK. I like them that way. The cross itself would normally not have maker marks. So depending on how much you spent and how much you like the cross could be a good deal.

                          There is another thread here:

                          http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=154839

where some '57 awards have been posted. The 2nd Class EK2 is inside a case VERY close to this one it appears. May be worth while to see if sven posts closer pics to compare

To follow up here, sven posted pics of his cased 57 EK2. The case looks "identical" to yours

                              Henri S,
Why is the case "definately" a repro?
It is nothing like the repro case on the other links shown and is different in several ways, one being the hinge is covered on the back where as the repro one shown on the link isn't, and also the white cardboard strip around the inside on the repro goes right across the front behind the clasp where as this one is in the correct style and doesn't.

                              Kapu763,
Gently pull the base out and see if it has the old animal fat glue in it........it might be a good case.

It is beyond me how someone can say it is fake based on the pics provided because it looks vaguely similar to a fake case that Muller-Militaria make.

                              Cheers,
                              Brett
