Photos of Iron Crosses being manufactured...

Recently I was researching photos for a new book project and came across three photos showing what apears to be an Iron Cross being manufactured.

They're sort of interesting so I will post all three images for everyone to see. It would be great if someone from this forum could post some comments. Perhaps these images offer some answers to how this badge was produced during the war years.

    best regards,
    Remy Spezzano

P.S. If you would like to own a nice set of all 3 photos, each in size 5" X 7". I will make them available postage paid for only US$20.- Just send me a PM for further instructions.

I can already tell you these are iron cross, I don't think the nazy produced 400 knight cross at the same time .

Very nice picture by the way.

What exactly is he doing in pic # 3 .... appears to be spraying something onto the frames?

Photos of the press have been shown here in the past, but not in anywhere NEAR the quality of the ones you have posted!

The photo showing what appeared to be the application of frosting via spray-jet is fascinating.... but looking closer, all the crosses are lying down overlapping each other, so this dosen't seem likely.

Maybe it's a simple air gun to blow off the old filings... or is it a blow torch heating device?

Thanks for posting these - any context you can add (date/place etc..) would be great!!

Another interesting close-up... what is this 'conveyor belt' like process?

Very nice picĀ“s, thanks for sharing them. And Biro that is the stamping off the core, pic 3 must be some kinda heating off the frames.

thanks for sharing. Do you have any picutres that show how the Iron centre was produced and eventually pressed with the frames?

Wow, great pictures, by any chance do you have pictures from badges production?
