        Hi Ron. No one can knock it because of its color ... this is MUCH better Can you provide closeups (and at an angle) of the hinge and catch? And with the pin in the closed position as well (from angle).

        Like Peter mentions the pin is rather sharp, but it wouldn't be the first pin that was sharpened by it's original owner. Could be a replaced reverse setup as well, maybe closer pics will show us more

                  Ron, Most unusual to say the least. I have not seen a KVK 1 with this exact reverse setup. However, it does look promising IMO.

                  I'd stay away from the garbage can at this point

                    Darrell, I don't Know if it means anything, but no matter how hard you try, the medal will not bend. The pin would eventually bend but you would have to apply serious pressure. Just being hopeful. Ron.

                      It looks like an honest Tombak example. I'll keep my eye open for similar makers.
