    EK2 spange variation

I have searched old posts and was unable to find any examples of a EK2 spange with one prong/loop top and bottom. There is an example with a photo credit to C. Boonzaier in Gordons book, it is described as being produced to allow for removal for washing etc. Any other information on these would be appreciated. Thank you

there has been a couple shown here by members in the past, but I wouldn't know where to start a search for them sorry. A rare variation, I think I can remember seeing both manufactured ones, and privately altered ones...
    regards

There was a similar one on a dealer's site not to long ago. It was presented as a piece that had been altered into a "slide on" style during the war. It makes sense that some individuals would come up with different ways of dealing with the problem of removing the Spangen when uniforms were cleaned, and such alterations or versions would be one way to do that. But how to tell when a conversion was done (that is, during the war or postwar to boost the value of the item) -- that could be difficult.

Thanks, I was able to examine this particular one and the seller purchased this with some other items that walked into his shop out of the wood work... I know same old story but the items in the group of stuff plus the crazy low price the person unloaded all the things for didnt raise any flags. This one looks like a nice factory made example by L/18 or L/13 . I need to look at he mark closer with a stronger loop , the one I used had the bottom half of the mark very hard to read. I will need to study Meyer EK2 spanges closer and see if Maybauer has a design as well, the finish and construction appear Meyer quality. I was hoping with this thread a maker may have been determined before on some encountered.
          Best Regards

can you imagine the one shown on that thread on a ribbon? very loose, if it's good (looks OK from here): surely a safety pin would be used to secure it...
I'd like to own it, but not at that price!
