Hi guys
had a little time this morning to illustrate my thoughts about L/16 ek2 spangen.
A few examples have popped up of late, adding to my confusion and interest. I hope these following pics (right or wrong) will add to our combined knowledge, or at least provoke more thoughts or other examples to be shown...
I've used fellow members and dealers spangen here, but as this is a public forum, I hope it's not 'against the rules'... although, as we all get ripped off and cheated so much, I don't give a rats ass!
remember this is all my own opinion, and I welcome yours
'A' and 'B' labelled spangen seem to be the 2 main styles of 'believable' L/16 fake:
'A' causes much confusion, as has good details and patinates well (and also today's 'fake of the week' by Detlev)
'B' is the traditional L/16 fake. Collectors/Dealers still seem to be split down the middle regarding authenticity, but IMO a repro of emmense quantity. Found in differing finishes, with or without markings
'C' labelled spange represents the multitude of 'unbelievable' L/16 fakes, which hardly need discussing
'D' labelled spangen seem IMO to be the only real ones of the lot... what do you think?
regards
jon
