Bitten the bullet so to speak and have become a member at last. As a member i thought i'd gauge your opinions on this little smasher. Or at least i hope it's a little smasher. Non maker marked and purchased from the e-stand. Any ideas as to the maker? Please tell me it's real.

My first EK II

Thanks gents. Nice to know it's the smasher i hoped it was. Technically speaking it's not my first. My first purchase was returned immediately. A packeted EK II from e-bay. When it arrived i was shocked. I'd never seen one before, but just knew it was rotten. The edges were covered in glue and the frames did not line up. Common sense told me it had at some point fallen apart and been glued back together. Back it went and i was refunded, but it appeared on e-bay again the following week. Never again will i purchase my medals from e-bay.
A kind collector directed me here. This feels a much safer environment to spend shed loads of money!
As i'm just beginning my Third Reich memorabilia adventure, could someone please tell me what makes the cross more interesting if it is a K&Q?

The K&Q EK's have some specific design characteristics that are apealing to many. The quality is also very high. One of the detail items that stick out for K&Q EK's is what I told my beloved wife 'the wicked curl of the "3"' The bottom stroke of the '3' in 1939 and 1813 turn into the curve more than any other maker I have seen. So its more of a neat feature than anythign else. Also K&Q made their version of the RK - so they were a quality firm.
