How well do you know EK2's???

OK, it's the week-end and not much is happening so....

Who can identify the maker of these 2 EKII's?

First up: Looks early? Frosting is chemical and not liquid applied. Burnished flanges and quality enamelled core. You can feel the core rattle within the frame.

    Number 2:

Nothing really distinguishing... core doesn't rattle and has a more semi-matt finish. Frosting is liquid applied type. Swastika is not pyramidal (has vertical edges).

      Richard,

I'm no where near as skilled as most of the people on this forum but I'll take a stab at it and say the 1st cross is a K&Q..

Hello, my best uneducated guess would be a deumer. The crosses IMO have very nice beading on the frames, Most of the K&Q crosses I have seen have a dull look to the paint of the core that these dont seem to have. K&Q crosses also have very nice beading however.
          Thanks,
          Mike

I noticed similarities with the Deumer in the EK2 section as well...

              Guess

Just a guess at it :
1 is made by 24 and
              2 is made by 23 .

Well we have differences of opinion...

If I'm reading the theads correctly so far we have:

                1) = 65 or 24

                2) = Deumer or 23

OK for sure No. 1 is NOT a '24'. Doesn't have the wide flanges the 24's have.

What about the date numerals? Are they not clues?

                  Richard,

                  I'm sticking with a 65 for cross #1.

The numbers on cross 2 look fatter than those on the Deumer.

After a little more looking, I'd say that cross 2 is a 123 or possibly a 26, the 26 in the EK2 section is in pretty rugged condition so if pressed for a definite answer I'll go with a 123.

None of them are from Deumer. A Deumer will have straighter arms and a "hump" on top of the frame.

                        Cheers.

Ok , # 1 is not a 24 ,..... did think too carefully on that . After loosing my harddrive have not redone my EK archive yet , so trying to work from memory does not work that well .
As Richard hinted the numerals are very destintive for certan maker or makers .
Some makers shared parts ..etc .
I notice that the number '1' has the most variations on EK's , fallowed by the 3 and then 9 .
This same phenominon is true for the KvK 2 as welll , .... here mainly the large veriety of different '1's !
Have to go back and pull up more pictures to do it right ,... slowly getting back into it . When does the term paper report suppose to be in by ?

                              Guys,

There's no end date. It ends when every one agrees or failing that when the majority agree.

Do you need pics of the reverse to help?
