Janek, welcome! You can buy a fairly nice cased EKI for less than $500, so don't jump into a purchase too quickly. My advice is to be patient, spend some time reviewing/studying old threads in this forum so you can tell good from bad, visit this web site's sponsors to see what's available (you may spot a few repro crosses), then wait to find the cross you want at the right price. Your investment in time and patience will pay off when you have the authentic cross you've always wanted in your hand .

Hello,

I would encourage that you buy an item off our very own e-stand. The prices are pretty fair, and sometimes cheaper than purchasing from a dealer. At the top of the forum of the e-stand is the rules and regulations, which states the rules as to how items are sold, i.e. return policy, ect. Reproductions are usually spotted right away and are seldom at that. You have a very nice community here and can put some trust in it.

Good luck in your venture and be sure to post some images of your cross in this forum for review.

My opinion is that you should look for better prices, $500 is a bit expensive

IMHO one of the best, if not the best, dealers on the net is Detlev-Niemann from Hamburg. Look at www.detlev-niemann.com. Every friday at 14:00 local time, he has new items to sale. The drawback is that usually is a few minutes or hours almost everything is sold. You may have a nice marked and cased EK for 300-350 Euros
