Hi All,

I was just wondering if anyone knew what happened to the following peoples RK's after the end of the war:
Grand Admiral Karl Donitz
Fieldmarshall Wilheim Keitel

David,
I don't have any hard facts for you on this. Dönitz lost his two sons during the war, both in the submarine service, I think. So, I don't think there was much left of his family except his wife. His decorations might have gone to the U-Boot Memorial. Keitel had a son who represented his father in the OdR as of the late 70's. Perhaps he has his father's things. Or, both men's decorations could have been "stolen" following their surrender. This is pure speculation on my part. Hope this helps in some small way.

Dönitz's personal possessions were stolen from him when he was taken into custody in 1945 and were not returned. Some of his spare uniforms were donated to the U-Boot Archiv, but not his awards.
